Perhaps most important to the club’s golfing membership: there are no tee times at Stockbridge Golf Club – and there is almost never a wait at the first tee. It’s a beautiful thing !!
With several sets of tees and the Housatonic River meandering throughout, the golf course can fit (or challenge) the game of any golfer at any skill level. From the back tees, the course measures 6,567 yards - short by modern standards, but with a premium on accuracy due to the close proximity of the river on more than half of the holes. There's plenty of challenge here if you want it. Conversely, higher handicap players have the opportunity to choose from among three sets of forward tees, so the course can be enjoyable for all ability levels.
The terrain of the course is flat, making the traditional walking experience easy and enjoyable. Caddies are available, but are not required. Push carts or old-fashioned carrying are additional options. And, of course, electric carts are also available.
Attesting to the quality of the golf course, the club has hosted the following outside tournaments since 1992:
1992 USGA Amateur Qualifier
1995 MGA Senior Championship
1999 USGA Amateur Qualifier
2001 MGA Team Net Championship
2003 MGA Father/Son Championship
2008 MGA Masschusetts State Open Championship
2009 USGA Amateur Qualifier
2011 MGA Amateur Qualifier
2012 NENY Class A Championship
Our head PGA professional, Steve Mazzariello, is an exceptional teacher for players of all skill levels, men, women and children. Steve and his assistants offer clinics and individual lessons, and host a week-long golf camp for juniors. There are evening leagues for men and women and many tournaments for members and their guests.
In addition, guests staying at one of several fine local inns may inquire about golf and dining at Stockbridge Golf Club.
This is one of the best golf courses in western Massachusetts. All who play here cherish the experience.
The Club has five tennis courts, three Har-Tru and two sand-over-carpet, and an extensive tennis program. The club’s Head Pro Matt Ragan, considered one of the best teaching professionals in the area, is highly sought after. Matt and Assistant Pro John Miller run clinics for players at every level, provide individual instruction and introduce members who play at comparable levels to each other. They also run a very popular one-week tennis camp for kids. In addition, the Club has a full program of tournaments.
Our fantastic Tennis facility went through a major upgrade in early 2012. The club's three Har-Tru tennis courts were completely re-graded and re-surfaced, and a new drainage control system was installed surrounding the court. The courts are like new and playing better than ever!
