Stockbridge Trophy Tournament
The Trophy Tournament is held the first weekend of June each year. In 2017 the dates are Saturday and Sunday, June 3 & 4 with a practice round on Friday, June 2nd. The cost of the trophy tournament is $220. Carts are available with prior reservation and are charged separately through the pro shop. The trophy tournament is open to all male members of the club and outside golfers also. It is conducted as a four ball stroke play format. Divisions are determined after Saturday's round. A maximum of 84 teams are accepted for the tournament on a first-come, first-serve basis. Play begins at 7:15am each day and teams are assigned tee times, starting from hole number 1 at ten minute intervals. The last team usually clears the first tee around 3:00pm. The course is then open to all members. The Friday afternoon practice round is included in the cost of the tournament, and the course remains open during the practice round. Tournament players have no preference over Stockbridge Golf Club members on Friday. More information on this tournament can be secured through the Pro Shop or through tournament chairmen Bill Barry and Jim Obanhein.
The Classic is a one-day tournament that will be played on Friday, May 26, 2017. It is a medal play format with a shotgun start at 1 pm. It is open to members and non-members. The entry fee is $80 for members and $100 for non-members who sign up as individuals. Non-members who sign up as a foursome are charged $80 per player. The fee includes golf with a dinner and awards immediately following the conclusion of the tournament. The Classic attracts many of Berkshire County’s finest golfers in addition to low handicappers from outside the area. For more information contact the Pro Shop at 413-298-3423.
Stockbridge Invitational Tournament
The Invitational is the Stockbridge Golf Club’s premiere annual golf tournament. Played over the course of three days, Aug 4-6, 2017, the tournament is open to invited players only. A practice round on Thursday, August 4th precedes the tournament play. Invitations are delivered to players from previous years and new players are invited based on dropouts and vacancies from the previous year. You must have a letter of request on file to be considered for an invitation to the tournament. Letters should be addressed to the Chairman of the Invitational Tournament.
The Invitational is comprised of 2-man teams playing in a four-ball (best-ball) format. All players play from the first tee by assigned tee-time on Friday. The gross best-ball score on Friday determines the position in the field for each team for the remainder of the tournament. Saturday and Sunday are played in the match play format. Teams who win their matches continue to play against other teams that have won their initial matches within the same division. Teams that lose also continue to play but are competing for consolation victories after their first loss. The cost of the Invitational is $625 per team. This entry fee entitles the two players a "stag" steak dinner on Friday night after the qualifying round, three days of golf - cart and lunch included, hors d’oeuvres and a dinner dance for each player and a guest on Saturday night and hors d’oeuvres and awards after the competition on Sunday. The course is closed for the entire day throughout the three-day tournament with reciprocal privileges for SGC members available at area clubs. For further information about the Stockbridge Invitational Tournament please contact Steve Mazzariello in the pro shop at 413-298-3423 or email to email@example.com.
|Senior Four-Ball Tournament
A senior tournament for players, ages 50 and above, is held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
The cost of the tournament is $100 per player which includes golf, cart and dinner with awards after the competition. The format is conducted as a four-ball (two person) better ball and the event is open to member and non-member teams. For further information about the Senior four-ball, contact John Morawiec or Steve Mazzariello in the pro shop at 413-298-3423.
The mixed scotch is played under the scotch format with teams comprised of one male and one female player. The gross score for each team is used to determine winners. This tournament will be held on Sunday, July 30th, and begins at 9 am with a shotgun start. The entry fee is $60 per team as long as one member of the team is a SGC member. Non-member teams are invited and are charged $80 for the team. Lunch is served off of the menu at additional cost after the tournament concludes. Prizes are awarded during lunch. For additional information contact the Pro Shop. Depending on the size of the field, the course remains open during the tournament. The Pro Shop staff will do their best to place you on the course wherever possible.
This is a great opportunity for spouses to enjoy a tournament format together or it is also a nice opportunity to choose a partner of the opposite sex that you would generally not play a round of tournament golf with.
