Tournament Descriptions

Stockbridge Classic

The Classic is a one-day tournament. It is a medal play format with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. It is open to members and non-members.   Tour Division 18-55 years old. Senior Tour Division 55 years old plus. Divisional Pro Shop credit. Special tournament events.  The Classic attracts many of Berkshire County’s finest golfers in addition to low handicappers from outside the area.

Stockbridge Trophy Tournament

The Trophy Tournament is held the first weekend of June each year.  The trophy tournament is open to all male members of the club and outside golfers also. It is conducted as a four-ball stroke play format. Divisions are determined after Saturday’s round. A maximum of 84 teams are accepted for the tournament on a first-come, first-serve basis. Play begins at 7:15am each day and teams are assigned tee times, starting from hole number 1 at ten-minute intervals. The last team usually clears the first tee at approximately 3:00pm. The course is then open to all members. The Friday afternoon practice round is included in the cost of the tournament, and the course remains open during the practice round. Tournament players have no preference over Stockbridge Golf Club members on Friday. More information on this tournament can be secured through the Pro Shop or through Tournament chairmen Bill Barry and Jim Obanhein.

Senior 4-Ball Tournament

The Senior 4 ball is conducted as a four-ball (two person) better ball and the event is open to member and non-member teams. 12:30 pm Shotgun start. Carts included in the registration price. Optional skins game at registration. Awards banquet to follow. For further information about the Senior four-ball, contact Steve Mazzariello in the golf shop at 413-298-3439 or email to golfproshop@stockbridgegc.com.

Stockbridge Invitational

The Invitational is the Stockbridge Golf Club’s premiere annual golf tournament, played over the course of three days.

The Invitational is comprised of 2-man teams playing in a four-ball (best-ball) format. All players play from the first tee by assigned tee-time on Friday. The gross best-ball score on Friday determines the position in the field for each team for the remainder of the tournament. Saturday and Sunday are played in the match play format. Teams who win their matches continue to play against other teams that have won their initial matches within the same division. Teams that lose also continue to play but are competing for consolation victories after their first loss.
The entry fee includes a “stag” steak dinner on Friday night after the qualifying round, three days of golf with cart and lunch each day. Also included is a Saturday evening party on the fairway.

The course is closed for the entire day throughout the three-day tournament with reciprocal privileges for SGC members available at area clubs. For further information about the Stockbridge Invitational Tournament contact Steve Mazzariello in the golf shop at 413-298-3439 or email to golfproshop@stockbridgegc.com.

Mixed Scotch

The mixed scotch is played under the scotch format with teams comprised of one male and one female player.  Prizes for gross and net winners are awarded after the completion of play.

This is a great opportunity for spouses to enjoy a tournament format together or it is also a nice chance to choose a partner that you would generally not play a round of tournament golf with.

The Harvest! New Tournament 2024!

1:00 pm Shotgun Start. The first 50 teams to register will be part of four divisions of 25 teams with $1100 per division prize money. Saturday will be the qualifying round and a modified scotch format. Sunday will be a two-person best ball format. Saturday there will be a medalist prize.

Freedom Open! New Tournament 2024!

Competition to be played as a two-person scramble. 12:00 pm Shotgun start. A donation to Soldier On included in the entry fee. Competition Prizes, carts included.
